Tropickles! OR Tropickles? Walmart's Idea for Satisfying Cravings

Not sure if this is an idea who time has come or what!  Yes, I know lots of pregnant ladies crave pickles and ice cream.  But can you ever remember anybody craving fruit punch flavored pickles?  Not sure how the foodie folks at Walmart came up with this idea.  Maybe there were a bunch of pregnant ladies working in that department.  ☺

As usual, PopSugar is on top of things all thing food-related and has published a review of this product.

Chowhound also has something to say about them.

“As unconventional as it may sound, this unlikely flavor combination is one for the books. Tangy-sweet bread and butter pickle juice against a salty peanut butter topping makes for an incredibly rich, balanced ice-cream-eating experience.”

A 24 oz. jar less than $2.
Are your curious to try them?
Great Value Tropickles at Walmart.

I shop at Walmart a lot. But when it comes to strange and exotic foods, I try to talk my kids into trying them out first.  What?  I got the idea from an old cereal commercial I used to watch on TV where kids were curious to try a new cereal and the way they tested it was to coax their baby brother into eating it first.  If he liked it then it must be OK.  So?  If it's a new food product?  If my kids like it, then it must be OK!

Rainbow-colored Oreo filled with controversy ~ Whatever!!

When it comes to rainbows, nobody loves them more than me.  Have loved rainbows all my life and don't plan to stop even if people try to whip up a controversy surrounding them.  That's how I feel about rainbows.

First I saw a tweet posted by @ItsFoodPics, and then saw a YouTube video titled "Rainbow-colored Oreo filled withcontroversy".  Seriously?

Controversy?  Oh no!  More like extreme upset!

I'm extremely upset because when I tried to shop for rainbow Oreo cookies online I couldn't find them!!  WHAT??!!  They're not for sale!!  WHY?!

How I feel about rainbows is the same way I feel about Oreo cookies.  Don't even think of trying to separate me from some Oreos and a glass of cold milk. 💕

I'm making a public statement. It's a shout out!  Nobody, anywhere in the world, should ever use rainbows or Oreo cookies to stir up controversy.

Oreos can be used for world peace!

People all around the world are celebrating. One of my favorite Asian TV chefs, Ching-He Huang, was a guest on the TODAY show and she briefly shared her good luck recipes to begin the new year. Her recipe for the main dish was Golden Chinese Five Spice Orange Roast Chicken. So many others are sharing their recipes and favorite dishes all around the web. There are so many to choose from. Clearly can't share them all, but hope to do like my selections.

Happy New Year!!

Ginger Orange Pound Cake Recipe

Ginger Orange Pound Cake Recipe

There is one classic dessert my husband and I can't resist - nothing fancy or over the top, just the simple, sweet and soft yumminess of pound cake with a good cup of tea! Over the years I've experimented with many flavours in this simple recipe, from the good old plain vanilla to cardamom spiced and, of course, the chocolate version.
