Ever tried Slap Ya Mama seasonings?

Interesting name huh?. The way Walker & Sons advertise their food products is:

"Taste so good. Make you wanna slap ya mama!"

Say what??!! There is nothing in my entire life that I've eaten that ever made me want to slay my momma. But guess what? These are award-winning spice blends.

"Real Cajun Seasoning for Real Cajun Cooking."

How did I find out about these products? The Internet and Facebook, in particular, is a beautiful thing. This person saw my foodie website, Everyday Exotic Spices, which is advertised on Facebook via my business page, contacted me, and asked if they could send me samples. Of course, my response was “Yes!”
Received various products in a box delivered straight to my door. Tried them in different recipes and here's my reaction. Did I want to slap my momma? No. But I was ready go mano-y-mano with my spouse!
He wanted to keep it all to himself. I'm like: “Oh no! That ain't happening!!”

Below are my favorites.

Round Up! Most Popular Foodie Friday Posts

My "Foodie Friday" posts have been discontinued because work efforts are being concentrated now on My Foodie Luv, a Medium publication, where I can collaborate with other food bloggers and writers, publish original content, and republish some of my content from this blog, Food Ways. This project (along with my other work-at-home projects) is time-consuming. But even though I have discontinued the Foodie Friday post series, there were certain posts that blog visitors and subscribers enjoyed. Below is a recap of the Top 5.  Thank you for your continued support.

Foodie Friday: Awesome Food Bloggers in the Bloggy Moms Network

Spotlight on food bloggers who are members of the Bloggy Moms Network

I have been a member of this network since 2015 and receive regular eMails which advertise:

  • events and meetings where blogger moms and mompreneurs get together, and
  • paid blogging opportunities.

The BM Network is also a great place to find recipes, cooking tips, meal ideas, and all kinds of food-related information. Below are excellent blog posts. Since the holiday season is here (I start celebrating in September ☺), the first share is about preparing a wonderful and healthy “healthier” Christmas feast. Some of the links were found at the Bloggy Moms site and others at blogs found listed in the blog directory at the BM site. Enjoy!!

Foodie Friday : Indian Food: Hot n Spicy Samosas (Reblog)

My foodie Friday topic is "samosas". Here is a link to a fun post published at one of my other blogs. It's sort of a Bollywood movie pick with an introduction to a fun food that the people of India love to eat: Hot n Spicy Samosas. To this link, I'm adding some more fun links below.

How many samosas can you wolf down!?

Foodie Friday : Food Blog Spotlight : Cook, Mix, Mingle

Cook, Mix, Mingle is a blog that explores the cultural diversity of South Florida. But since many posts are about Florida cuisine it could also be sub-categorized under food blogs.

Been actively blogging as one of my primary home business projects for years. Publishing my various blogs is rewarding and enjoyable work, but reading blogs by others is eye-opening and a lot of fun!  Every publisher is so unique in their style and method of presentation.
  • Cook, Mix, Mingle would likely be viewed as a cultural diversity blog.  But I like all the food finds. ☺
The former publisher, Lawrence Jean-Louis, (she sold the blog) is a young lady who currently hails from South #Florida and has Haitian roots. She shares all sorts of information about the area but my favorite posts are the ones about food. For example: In a blog entry dated February 10, 2014, readers were directed to five #YouTube channels on #howto cook #Africanfood. If you ever visited or lived in South Florida (or Haiti), then you know many of the #recipes for the dishes served in restaurants or private homes, for that matter, incorporate the flavors of the African continent. What a fabulous find for #foodies!  Five food channels right at your fingertips!  This post should be featured in a Food Lovers Guide.

Since most people usually do a review of their previous year's efforts anyway, I'm sharing my list of posts that were tagged “Foodie Friday” in case you want to visit or revisit. Enjoy!

Foodie Friday : Chinese New Year Recipes and Dishes

The food-related topic of choice for this week's foodie Friday should be obvious.

Chinese New Year!

At our partner blog, My Blog Stop!, two posts were published discussing this wonderful holiday celebration with its traditions.

Foodie Friday : It's Flipping Foodie Friday!

Are your weeks flying by fast or is it just me? Feels like it was a #FoodieFriday just a couple of days ago.  One week passed already and it's time for another post!

So this is what I'm sharing. Ever hear of Flipboard?

Heard of it. Tried it. Got confused because of my pea-sized brain and gave up on it! It's a good thing that my online friends are persistent. One fellow blogger says she is using this fantastic tool and enjoying much success! She was so bubbly and energetic, I decided to have at it one more time!  Eureka!  I DID IT!!

This time I created my Flipboard account ( https://flipboard.com/@cmoneyspinner ) and a brand new magazine. See content below.

My I Like Eating Channel on Flipboard

Tweeted it out for Foodie Friday. ( When I finally get something to work right, I have to brag! :) )

Just before I got started, received a link to an article in my eMail that explained how easy it was to publish successfully on Flipboard.  That really made things clear. After my account and my magazine were both created, I add the Flip.it bookmarklet sharing tool to my browser bookmarks bar. From that point forward, it's all been smooth sailing.

Did a search on Twitter with the terms “#FoodieFriday, Flipboard”. The results are fabulous! Wish there were more. Nevertheless … Enjoy! :)
